who we are

Welcome to Bee Better Naturally with Helen Yoest!

Our mission here at Bee Better Naturally is to educate homeowners, community leaders, and developers on the importance of sustainable, organic, and water-wise garden design, with a focus to fully sustain the life-cycle of migrating and resident birds, bees, and butterflies, and the other wildlife that we can attract.

As an educational foundation, Bee Better Naturally with Helen Yoest shares information through our Bee Better Naturally website and workshops, and stay tuned for new online courses we’ll be offering!

Our director, Helen Yoest, also speaks to ecoregion communities and community outreach, as well as private and public tours sharing gardens making a difference to Bee Better Naturally in their community.

Funding for Bee Better is through individual donations, corporate sponsors, workshop & course fees, and bird and pollinator tours and talks. Donations are welcome. We are a 100% volunteer organization.

we want to help

We know learning to garden is overwhelming enough, so we are here to take your hand and guide you to building a garden that can, for the most part, care for itself. This isn’t an exaggeration! We define a sustainable garden as one that can…. wait for it, sustain itself!

Helen Yoest is uniquely qualified with her background in science, nature, and yes, even engineering (someone has to do the math) to lead the way to a more sustainable garden lifestyle. It won't be long before you can sit, yes SIT, on the back porch and watch the butterflies alight, the hummingbirds to sup, and bumblebees to cover themselves, so they look like they were in a pillow fight but with pollen!

Through our free blog content, our paid online training programs, forums, and anything else we might offer—we’re in this to make a difference. To help you create a garden that will give back to you and the environment.

Van Morrison sang it best…no guru, no method, no teacher, just you and I in nature….

I have no plans to stand on a bully pulpit. I’m still learning every day and have made mistakes. I have learned from those mistakes, and I also know, I will continue to trip along the way.  What I can promise you is this:

I will never pretend to know something if I don’t. Instead, I’ll tell you, let me look into that, and I’ll get back with you. And I will!

My commitment is to bring you the very best of my experience and knowledge, and more importantly, my passion for the environment!
