HAVE A GARDENING NEED? HIRE HELEN!
Winterberry
The Back 40 (ft) North to South— I installed the edging I did it alone, and it was difficult. this task is much easier with two. But I think I got it straight enough. Thew. I still need more, but I’ve made the turn from the longest stretch.
The Back 40 (ft) South to North
Gazebo Corner
The Epimedium Patch—I put in an order to Digging Dog Nursery for more epimediums. If you remember, last year when I got six, the rabbits ate them right away. I believe people when they said, they are rabbit resistant Oops.
The Wildflower Patch Extension—I worked this area making there was no noxious weed, lesser celandine, Ranunculus ficaria. I did the same within the Mixed Border.
The Wildflower Patch—I’m waiting for flower!
The Southside—I'm making major changes here. While I was trimming back the hardy kiwi, I realized the arbor was no longer stable. This got me thinking if I even want this plant. Last year was the first year I got fruit, and it was only OK. Given how high maintenance, I think I will not renovate it. I’ll dig up the root and see if it will work in the Joslin Garden’s Food Forest. Since it finally fruited, I’m. hoping it will do so again.
The Ostrich Fern Garden
The Front Fountain Garden
The Food Forest Extension—I added more mulch around the blueberries. Direct sowed romaine lettuce.
The Front Beds
The Raspberry Patch—My friend, Don Sawhill, came over to help me get a better handle on the vine. It was a hot mess.
The Pollinator Garden—Cut back last years stems. Check first to see if there were any chrysalis. There were none.
